The ‘original’ Valva Sheen was an old sportswear manufacturer founded in 1932; based in Cincinnati, Southwest Ohio. Velva Sheen products got really popular and its reputation spread through colleges, sport teams, and even the US marines. Unfortunately, the original company filed for bankruptcy and stopped its production in 1999. Although the company was out of the game, the legacy of quality basic garments carried on.
In 2009, Velva Sheen was brought back to business under Topwin Corporation. The company is now based in Torrance, California. Some of the characteristics of Velva Sheen that are seen frequently include: heritage fit that may run smaller, seamless tubular construction, flat-lock seams, and blind stitches. Velva Sheen ALWAYS utilizes domestic US cotton; Velva Sheen garments are entirely made in California, USA.
